Young Science Writers' Competition
About the competition

The Young Science Writers' Competition will in future be a biennial event. Saturday Star and the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) would like to announce that the third round of the competition will be held in 2008.

There will be no YSW 2007, but it does allow all you enthusiastic young scientists some additional time to work on your entries. We look forward to receiving polished articles next year!

The competition will give scientists aged 20 – 35 at South African higher education institutions and science councils the opportunity to write a 700-word article on any scientific or science-related subject, to inform and entertain the readers of Saturday Star.

Show how you can convey the excitement of science in plain English and you could WIN...WIN...WIN!

Dates and details for round three will be posted as and when they become available.
